Honoring the birth year of our Proprietor & Winemaker Kirk P. Venge, this wine reflects the
historic roots the Venge family has grown in Napa Valley over the last half-century. Venge Cabernet fans get fired up! The 2023 vintage will undoubtedly be remembered among the great vintages of the past few decades. An even growing season with a near-perfect bumper crop led to wines of concentration and superior deliciousness, and our first Cabernet release from the vintage does not disappoint. Once again, this wine has the purity and finesse of a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon like no other we have produced at this level.

THE PURPOSE | A Wine Produced Exclusively For Members of our Wine Club & Active Allocation List

A wine produced in honor of Kirk Venge’s birth year, 1976, with the sole intent to provide our most devoted enthusiasts with everyday Cabernet from some of the valley’s most famous locations. This wine is the sole beneficiary of everything we are doing in our cellar to produce elite Cabernet Sauvignon, plus, single-vineyard selections that we have chosen specifically to produce 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon. An altruistic production effort that says “Thank you” for making our dreams come true.   

PRODUCTION Essentials

While production for our 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon starts in the vineyards, the special sauce for this wine comes through during the blending process, whereby we begin targeting a flavor profile that is predominantly approachable and fruit forward, with balanced tannin structure to support 7 to 10 years of ageing in bottle.

Method | 4-Stage Pellenc Destemmed, 100% Gravity Flow To Concrete Diamond and Stainless Steel Fermenters, Slow Cellar Temp Fermentations On Skins, 100% Native Primary and Secondary Fermentation, 95% Free Run Juice Complemented with 5% Press Fractions, Gentle Barrel To Tank Racking.
